Special Session 6: Global or/and Blowup Solutions for Nonlinear Parabolic Equations and Their Applications

Wind is one of the main forces affecting the rate of forest fire spread. It may either increase or decrease the energy transferred toward the unburned areas. The present study is devoted to understanding the effect of wind on the propagation of forest fires. To model the propagation of forest fires a semiphysical approach is used. By this approach forest fire is considered as an adiabatic combu...

Meyers type estimates for approximate solutions of nonlinear parabolic equations and their applications

In this paper we obtain Meyers type (Lp+ε -) estimates for approximate solutions of nonlinear parabolic equations. This research is motivated by a numerical homogenization of these type of equations [?]. Using derived estimates we show the convergence of numerical solutions obtained from numerical homogenization methods.

Interior Integral Estimates on Weak Solutions of Nonlinear Parabolic Systems

This paper concerns various types of CACCIOPPOLI and POINCAR E inequalities on weak solutions u of nonlinear parabolic systems. The main result of the paper is the local integrability of the spatial gradient Du to an exponent p > 2.

On the Hölder continuity of solutions of nonlinear parabolic systems

Non-linear second order parabolic systems in the divergent form are considered. It is proved that under some restrictions on the modulus of ellipticity, all weak solutions are continuous.

Critical Point Theorems for Nonlinear Dynamical Systems and Their Applications

We present some new critical point theorems for nonlinear dynamical systems which are generalizations of Dancš-Hegedüs-Medvegyev’s principle in uniform spaces and metric spaces by applying an abstract maximal element principle established by Lin and Du. We establish some generalizations of Ekeland’s variational principle, Caristi’s common fixed point theorem for multivalued maps, Takahashi’s no...
